Blarney Castle & Cork 6/23

Who knew there was more to Blarney Castle than just kissing the stone?  We arrived thinking we'd explore the castle, kiss the stone, and head out, but instead we found a beautiful estate with all sorts of places to explore!

We began in the area of legends... witches, druids & fairies!  Quite an enchanting walk, and fun to read all the tales.

We found the kids area, where Eric decided the swing was a spin and puke, and spun me like crazy!

Then it was on to the herbaceous garden...

Next it was on to the castle and time to kiss the stone!  It was a good wait, and the line wound its way up the flights of the castle.

Once my dad and I kissed the stone, we climbed back down, exploring the rest of the castle.

Once back outside, we checked out the Poison Garden!!  And if you zoom in on the sign, you will see they were growing marajuana, but it was seized by the Irish police!!

A final view of the castle on our way out...
And we headed for Cork!  We Explored the English market, wandered the shop laden streets, and checked out the Crawford Art Gallery.  I just grabbed some pasta salad and cheese with oatcrisps for lunch.

And we headed back to the B&B to relax for a bit before we head out pub hopping & to dinner tonight!
