This morning we took some time to wander around the little city of Galway. It was mostly a home base for us to visit the Aran Islands and push on to the Cliffs of Moher, but as its a charming little city (and my dad needed to find a camera battery) we set off to explore!
I found an adorable little bakery on Shop Street, and picked up some tarts and two raisin scones as a potential lunch for us. Im now addicted to the scones over here, as so far, all of them are much more like biscuits... soft and slightly buttery, rather than dry and crumbly like most American scones.
From there, we just started wandering, looking for the castle that was on our map, but never found it. It must have been tucked into a building somewhere! We did see the Cathedral, Eyre Square, the Port area with a ton of swans, and the Spanish Arch before heading back to our B&B to take off on the drive.
